Oh dear what weather . The bitterly cold winds at the end of February and early March have set back the garden. Our magnolias should be out in a week or so, but now expect them to be at least a week late, and the banana plants look terrible.

We open for the National Gardens Scheme on Sunday May 13th 12.30 to 17.00.

Northcourt Stables. We have had planning granted for  residential coursein the stables and restoration of the building and kitchen garden. The plans are available on the Isle of Wight council website under  http://www.iwight.com/council/departments/planning/appsdip/AppDetails3.aspx?frmId=24352. Due to high costs of renovation and conditions to be satisfied, we are not yet in a position to proceed. However we have built a cottage on footprint of old glasshouses and replaced one glass house for which we received the top IW RIBA award.
